Section 1:
1. The position of Vice President shall be established within the Philippine Psychiatrists in America (PPA) organization (hereinafter referred to as "the organization").
Section 2:
1. Eligibility:
a. To be eligible for the position of Vice President, an individual must be a member in good standing of the PPA organization.
b. Candidates for the Vice President position must possess a valid license to practice psychiatry in the United States.
Section 3:
1. Term:
a. The term of office for the Vice President shall be two years, commencing on the date of election.
b. The Vice President may serve up to two consecutive terms.
Section 4:
1. Duties and Responsibilities:
a. The Vice President shall assist the President in managing the affairs of the organization and promoting its goals and objectives.
b. The Vice President shall collaborate with the President and other members of the executive team in developing and implementing strategic plans and initiatives.
c. The Vice President shall participate in decision-making processes and provide valuable input on matters concerning the organization's activities and policies.
d. The Vice President shall, in coordination with the President, represent the organization in external meetings, conferences, and events.
e. The Vice President shall preside over meetings in the absence of the President and ensure their orderly conduct.
f. The Vice President may undertake additional responsibilities as delegated by the President or as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the organization.
Section 5:
1. Succession to the Presidency:
a. If the President is unable to fulfill their role, the Vice President shall ascend to the position of President.
b. The ascension of the Vice President to the role of President shall be considered temporary until the completion of the original President's term.
c. If the President's term is not completed at the time of the vacancy, the succeeding Vice President shall complete the remaining period and be eligible for re-election as President.
Section 6:
1. Election and Vacancy:
a. The election process for the Vice President shall be conducted in accordance with the PPA organization's bylaws and regulations.
b. A vacancy in the Vice President position shall be filled through a special election, to be organized and completed within a period specified by the organization's bylaws.
Section 7:
1. Implementation:
a. This constitutional amendment shall go into effect immediately upon its ratification by the PPA organization's general membership.
